Meet the Founders
Kendall Pilcher Co-founder / Owner
MD Candidate, Anticipated May 2027 Kendall began her caregiving journey at 13 years old in her St. Louis neighborhood. By 17, she was nannying full-time during the summers — a commitment she continued even through her final summer between her first and second year of medical school. After moving to Columbia, South Carolina, in 2018 to attend the University of South Carolina as an undergraduate student, Kendall remained focused on pursuing a career in medicine. While shadowing physicians who often struggled to find reliable childcare, she naturally became a trusted resource — spending much of her time outside of class providing dependable care for medical families.
Kendall began medical school at USC School of Medicine, Columbia in 2023, where an informal network of medical student caregivers was already forming. As more physicians began families, the need for trustworthy, vetted caregivers became increasingly clear — yet access remained inconsistent and word-of-mouth driven.
Together, Kendall and co-founder Lexi have provided childcare and pet sitting support to more than a dozen physician families. What began organically has evolved into Med Student On Call Care — a structured, private network built to serve the very community they are part of.
The mission is simple: to ensure that the families of healthcare professionals — now families we consider our own — have access to caregivers we personally trust and confidently stand behind.
